We went to the Christmas wonderland after seeing the advertising banners and the webpage, adit looked quite good. Although I haven't been impressed with my last few visits of the Farm I thought I'd give it a go. Well wish I hadn't. What a waste of money. We looked around the Farm and as it was winter the animals weren't very lively. Our next stop was the Reptile House, which is pretty pants, there are pensions in Essex which are more Interesting. We made our way to the Christmas wonderland, it was in a large industrial shed thing, had one stall selling jams and stuff, a few tables out with craft bits on for the children to make which wasn't too bad, but could have done that at home, a tatty looking snow globe which we didn't bother with and a little sleigh in the corner. We got a hot chocolate which the girl that worked there made us, a pot of Cadbury powder shoved in some hot water and a plastic cup. Then santa arrived and announced "I don't do one to one with each child, just come and see me when I'm wondering around!" he gave my son a crappy pressant which was more than probably from poundland. It was very disappointing indeed. We paid over £60 to get in and it was a anything but magical experience for my son. Luckily we managed to get booked in to see santa at altons garden centre the following week, which was excellent and only cost less than £10. Will not be going back to Barleylands again. And before the customer care representative replies and says but we think it's excellent value for money and lists all of the things included, no we didn't miss anything out, we have seen everything that Barleylands has to offer and it is a rip off! I would recommend that you should visit tye shops in the Craft Village but don't waste your time or money on the Farm.
