Dry Creek Premium wood pellets are specially formulated to optimize stove performance. We use the same formula with controlled species in each
batch. We sort our incoming raw materials and only use the
tested and verified species in our premium wood pellets. We
do not use unknown byproduct raw materials such as
demolition or secondary manufacturing materials. We are a
round log plant with total control over our exact formulas so
you get the consistent same product year after year. It costs
more to produce this way but it assures our customers the

Premium VS Standard Grade Pellets: What's the Big Difference

Premium grade pellet fuel (less than 1% ash content) is usually
produced from hardwood or softwood sawdust containing no tree
bark. Ash content varies in premium fuels from about .3% for some
western softwoods to about .7% for eastern hardwoods. Less ash
means more fuel per pellet.assell & Hughes Lumber Company, Inc. is the proud manufacturer of Greenway Premium Wood Pellet Fuel. Hassell & Hughes is located in South Central Middle Tennessee and has been in the hardwood lumber business since 1929. In December 2006, our pellet mill became operational using kiln-dried sawdust generated from our unfinished flooring mill to produce 100% hardwood premium grade wood fuel pellets. We pride ourselves in being able to provide products that are of the highest quality and consistency as we control the raw material from the hardwood lumber to the pellet.Premium pellets, which make up over 65% of our current pellet
production, can generally be burned in stoves calling for either
standard or premium fuel. Increased availability of standard fuel is
anticipated as stove designs continue in maintenance frequency.
Expect the heat content for a pound of premium pellets to range
between 8,000 and 9,000 Btu per pound, depending on the species
and region of the country. Pellets are taken from these silos and delivered to on-site (home or business) storage bins or silos. These indoor or outdoor storage units can be of varying sizes. Some are large enough that many owners may only require a couple of deliveries a year. For instance, some bins measure 6-feet square and can hold 4 tons of pellets. A home that burns 1,000 gallons of #2 heating oil would burn approximately 7.5 tons of premium pellets. This equates to just two deliveries a year.
