When placing the pad in an enclosed area, be sure pad covers no more than half of the floor space so your pet has the option of sleeping on or off the heated pad.

You're purchasing one fabric panel (about 13.5" x 9.5") with my pretend warning label professionally printed on 100% high quality cotton. Spread your new fabric on a table or bed. Lay the heating pad down on the fabric so that the fabric fits lengthwise; the cord should come off one cut end of the fabric. Fold the piece of fabric over the top of the heating pad to form a simple envelope, with the cord sticking out one end. Push one long edge of the pad up against the fold. Carefully pin the two layers together down the other long edge and along the edge opposite the cord. Pay attention! Do not stick a pin into the pad! The line of pins should be about an inch away from the edge of the pad.
