Christown Spectrum Mall - Phoenix, AZ - Foursquare
Neat website! I was born in 1962 so some of my memories of Christown's early days are fairly vague. I think what sticks out in my mind the most are the Court of Fountains and the organ grinder. I ALWAYS had to give the monkey a penney. Entering the main entrance with a burst of cool air and hearing the sound of the fountains on a hot summer day, was incredibly refreshing. Christown was a special place. In 1980 I went to work at Wards in their Key and Gift shop. It was always entertaining to watch people walking the mall and there were some regulars that were at the mall on a daily basis just hanging out and people-watching. I really miss those days. Too bad corporations can't think outside of the box and see the value of providing a unique and comfortable environment.
